Monsanto Lawsuit

Roundup Lawsuit for Leukemia and Lymphoma - Do You Qualify for a Settlement?

Have you or a family member been diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma following the use of Roundup? If so, you may be entitled to recover compensation for your injuries.

Roundup was originally deemed safe, effective, and environmentally-friendly when Monsanto put it on the market as a commercial weed killer in the 1970s. However, the main ingredient – glyphosate – has been linked to cancer. Specifically, leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Despite Monsanto’s claims that Roundup is safe when used as directed, internal emails from Monsanto indicate the company knew glyphosate causes cancer and chose to bury that information and hide it from the public.

Glyphosate was declared a probable human carcinogen in 2015 by the IARC – the cancer research arm of the World Health Organization.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) spent a year studying glyphosate’s link to cancer and concluded that glyphosate is a probable human carcinogen that damages DNA and creates oxidative stress in the body.

Monsanto’s secret is out – glyphosate is a carcinogen

Glyphosate’s connection to cancer was a secret that couldn’t be contained forever. In 2017, judges began unsealing and publishing documents obtained by plaintiffs that prove Monsanto was aware that glyphosate causes cancer. Now thousands of people are realizing their cancer diagnosis is linked to Roundup and are seeking the compensation they deserve.

Despite going up against a powerful corporation, the first three Roundup cancer lawsuits won million-and billion-dollar jury verdicts. The first case – Pilliod et al. v. Monsanto Co. won a $2.055 billion jury verdict; Johnson v. Monsanto Co. won $289.2 million; and Hardeman v. Monsanto Co. won $80 million.

Tens of thousands of additional lawsuits are awaiting trial.

Thousands are suing Monsanto over the Roundup cancer link

Currently, about forty thousand outraged citizens are filing lawsuits against Monsanto for knowingly selling a product with ingredients linked to cancer. All of these people are well within their rights to pursue compensation for the catastrophic damages that a cancer diagnosis can cause.

Leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma are serious diagnoses

Cancer is a serious diagnosis. Not only is the diagnosis emotionally devastating, but your medical bills pile up fast. Most insurance plans don’t cover the full extent of cancer testing and treatments, which means you’ll be left paying out of pocket.

If you rely on income from a job, a cancer diagnosis can postpone your ability to earn an income and will interfere with your ability to support yourself and your family. To get treatment, you may need to take more time off work than your employer is willing or able to provide. If your job is at-will, your employer isn’t under any obligation to keep you on payroll if taking time off hurts the business.

Seeking compensation for your injuries is the best way to alleviate the stress of mounting medical bills and personal bills you can’t afford to put off.

If you have a case and choose to pursue a lawsuit against Monsanto, you have a chance at recovering a good amount of financial compensation. If you don’t pursue a lawsuit against Monsanto, there’s no other way to get compensation. Without a lawsuit, you risk having to file bankruptcy and having to deal with the effects of bad credit for at least seven years.
